Stephany Flores Murdered / Radhaniya Slave Trader Got Careless with the Merchandise / Joran van der Sloot 's Business
ON VACATION IN PERU De Vries’ latest report, which was shown Sunday night on Dutch television, shows Van der Sloot telling someone posing as a sex-industry boss that he can get passports for Thai women and girls who think they are going to the Netherlands to work as dancers, DutchNews.nl reported. Van der Sloot makes about $13,000 for every woman sold into prostitution in the Netherlands, De Vries claims." (Report: Natalee Holloway Suspect Involved in Thai Sex Trafficking, Fox News, 10 Nov 2008 ) This work can occasionally get complicated. Especially when Joran was trying to catch educated slaves. In places like Peru. BASIC TACTICS OF THE SLAVE TRADER In olden days, slave traders liked rivers: "To slave-traders rivers offered the final attraction that they could get their slaves by water-borne raids on communities unused to attack from that quarter." (Alexander Murray, Reason and society in the Middle Ages, Oxford University Press, 1978, p 43) TAKING VICTIMS BY SURPRISE: TIRED, DRUNK, AND UNDER COVER OF DARKNESS Slave trader van der Sloot thought things over carefully, and decided he could find his slaves at nightspots, when they were a little bit tired and drunk. Pretend to be romantic. Drug them. And ship them off to his customers. (Joran van der Sloot cited in Joran van der Sloot Goes 'On the Record' with New Natalee Holloway Story, On the Record w/ Greta, FOX, 25 Nov 2008)
Mr. Joran van der Sloot makes his home in "a cell at the prosecutor's office" in Lima, Peru. (per Frank Bajak, Police: Dutchman says he knows Holloway location, AP, 11 Jun 2010) Of course, he doesn't stay inside all the time. Sometimes he goes out for walks, generally accompanied by full-sized policemen who know who to shoot.
BUSY SLAVE TRADER
Sometimes a slave trader needs a break from his stressful schedule, and so Joran is enjoying the brief down time.
"Reporter Peter De Vries has made a second hidden-camera expose on Dutch student Joran Van der Sloot". "
And so, on the night of 29 May 2010, Joran showed up at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, Peru.
FINE-LOOKING PROSPECTIVE SLAVE
And such luck. He ran into "21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez". (Former suspect in Natalee Holloway case wanted in Peruvian murder case, CNN, 3 Jun 2010) She was a good-looking girl, with a nice smile. And the sort of body that could bring in at least $13,000 for slave trader Joran.
And another nice slave for his clients. It seems the American FBI was in the market, and so they had given him a down payment of $25,000 in May of 2010. (Bo Dietl cited in Joran Van Der Sloot Got $25,000 from FBI Before Trip to Peru, Says Private Investigator, CBS, 9 Jun 2010) "Imperial officials (judices reipublicae) helped and encouraged Jewish slave merchants to break the laws that prohibited Jews from dealing in Christian slaves". (Bernard S. Bachrach, Early medieval Jewish policy in Western Europe, University of Minnesota, 1977, p 34)
With this kind of walking-around money, Joran had no problems in attracting women. He had enough for a nice hotel, casino visits, and cool clothes.
And, of course, some drugs to "soften up" the women. "Ricardo Flores said that police found his daughter's car about 50 blocks from the hotel, and that inside, they found pills like those used in date rape cases." (Former suspect in Natalee Holloway case wanted in Peruvian murder case, CNN, 3 Jun 2010)
Surely he could find a special slave that would give the FBI solid value for their $25,000.
So there Joran was in the casino.
OPENING THE DOOR TO DANGER
And Stephany Flores decided to talk to him. "Women often start their hellish journey by choice". (Michael Specter, Contraband Women, New York Times, January 11, 1998) It was late, plenty of alcohol, and this woman went to a casino frequented by slave traders.
TYPICAL SLAVE TRADERS IN ACTION
Slave traders like the two Jews standing at left. On the cross you see a representation of one of their captives undergoing a "hellish journey". (as per Michael Specter, Contraband Women, New York Times, January 11, 1998)
But Joran wasn't wearing a turban, full beard, or robe in the casino.
How could Stephany recognize him?
Maybe there were more warning flags?
There were!!
Joran was pretending to be Dutch. Or, as People delicately puts it, he was "Dutch national Joran van der Sloot". (Tim Nudd, Report: Joran Van der Sloot Confesses to Peru Murder, People, 8 Jun 2010) There are plenty of real Dutch people out there. (as at right)
"Flores, who met Van der Sloot at a casino where he was playing poker, had gotten hold of his laptop and discovered his connection to the Natalie Holloway murder in 2005 - for which the Dutchman has been a long-time suspect.
SLAVE TRIED TO ESCAPE
"I went to her and I hit her," he said, according to the newspaper. "She was scared, we argued and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."" (Michael Sheridan, Joran van der Sloot confession: Stephany Flores got too curious about me, so I killed her, New York Daily News, 8 Jun 2010)
If only Stephany Flores had gotten her information in time. But she didn't. And so this Jew killed her.
He thought about taking along the dead body of Stephany, but reconsidered. After all, when he left the hotel with a suitcase, but without paying, he could be stopped. So he left the body in his hotel room, and took off for Chile.
THE WORLD IS POORER, BUT ALSO RICHER
And so the world is one beautiful girl poorer.
But richer in warning flags.
Warnings to all those Thai girls who are considering a year of "dancing" overseas. And all those Peruvian girls who had been hanging out at casinos frequented by slave traders.
But weren't there warnings enough out there already?
"Not only did imperial officials cooperate with Jews to break the law with regard to Jewish ownership and trade in Christian slaves, but prelates such as the bishops of Cagliari and Luna did as well". (Bernard S. Bachrach, Early medieval Jewish policy in Western Europe, University of Minnesota, 1977, p 34, 35)
The government could have warned these girls. But they didn't.
The bishops knew better. But forgot to warn Stephany Flores and Natalee Holloway.
SUCH TRAGEDIES HAD HAPPENED SO OFTEN IN THE PAST
In April of 1370, Catherina, a converted Jewess, reported to the pastor of the Brusselse Sint-Catharinakapel that Jews had stolen the sacred host from the church. They punctured the host with their daggers, and it started to bleed.
The Jews got worried, and offered Catharina money to take away that bleeding host. She reported the crime, and the Jews confessed. (Ludo Abicht, Geschiedenis van de Joden van de Lage Landen, Meulenhoff, 2006, p 31) The penalty imposed by the judiciary was burning at the stake. Further investigation revealed a much broader conspiracy, and so all the Jews from Brussels and Leuven were burned as well. Since the desecration had obviously been planned in the synagogue, it was torn down, and replaced in 1436 by a Christian chapel. (Ludo Abicht, Geschiedenis van de Joden van de Lage Landen, Meulenhoff, 2006, p 32)
THE BOOKS ARE FULL OF SIMILAR CAUTIONARY STORIES
Stephany Flores had access to the excellent Biblioteca Municipal located in the Palacio Municipal on the Plaza de Armas in Lima. This library has a lot of good history books. Not to mention the Catedral de Lima, where there are plenty of pictures showing what the slave traders are capable of. And the web.
And now there is one more such story.
So rest in peace, Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramírez.
