Rick Sanchez, CNN, and Bigotry: Who Really Runs the Media?

Ricardo León Sánchez de Reinaldo presented "news" for CNN. He looks good (see at left) and speaks even better -- and that in both English and Spanish. Let's say a news source wanted to speak in Spanish. Rick could explain what they had to say.

After about 25 years on farm teams, Sánchez moved up to the big leagues in 2004. CNN.

And people liked him. So much so that he got a 2-hour show.

BUT "SOMEONE ELSE" NEEDED HIS SLOT

But his run at CNN "ended this week because the time slot is being filled by a new show featuring former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer". His maternal grandparents were Jews born in the 1890s in Palestine.

HARASSESS CUBAN NEWS PRESENTER

"Stewart had frequently poked fun of Sanchez on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show"". His older brother Larry Leibowitz is Chief Operating Officer of the New York Stock Exchange.

WAS THIS RACISM?

Rick Sanchez didn't enjoy this, and "said that Stewart is bigoted toward "everybody else that's not like him."" Interviewer Pete Dominick said that Stewart/Leibowitz was a "minority". WELL, WHO REALLY RUNS THE MEDIA?

Rick Sanchez observed that the media is run by Jews, so Mr. Stewart/Leibowitz was not a minority around places like CNN: "I'm telling you that everyone who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart" -- in short "the people in this country who are Jewish". And who would know better than Rick Sanchez? He's been around broadcast journalism for his entire career. He had six years at CNN. That should be long enough to figure out who runs things.

And did Rick Sanchez speak truth? "CNN fired news anchor Rick Sanchez on Friday, a day after he called Jon Stewart a bigot in a radio show interview where he also questioned whether Jews should be considered a minority." And the firing was directly related to what he had to say about the Jews?
