Ch 8 Hamburg

In the port city of Hamburg, there were a lot of Jews wheeling and dealing, and hauling in the profits. They'd get together in the large synagogue in the Beneckestraße.

They ritually destroyed their own synagogue with a bombing attack on July 27, 1943, (Dipl.-Pol. Wilhelm Mosel, Deutsch-Jüdische Gesellschaft, Hamburg. http://www1.uni-hamburg.de/rz3a035//1vonmellepark.html) They also took time to destroy the zoo in the Stellingen part of Hamburg (July 24 and 25, 1943).
